Xiaomi has shared another video of its folding smartphone prototype. The company has not disclosed any details about the phone; however, the video confirms that the company takes the ambitions of folding phones seriously and continues working on the same. First introduced in January of this year, the Xiaomi folding phone prototype has a double-fold design, unlike other folding phones that have been introduced so far. It is not clear if Xiaomi is closer to the official launch of the folding smartphone.
Shared on Xiaomi’s Weibo account (re-uploaded on YouTube), the video of the company’s folding phone prototype reveals nothing new and only shows a person using the phone in portrait mode in a deployed state. The person changes the orientation and bends the phone from both sides before placing it in a box of noodles. The delay of the software to change the orientation of the screen, as well as to change the user interface from tablet mode to phone mode, is clearly visible and Xiaomi must solve it before bringing the phone to market. , and Motorola is also working on folding smartphones. In fact, Samsung and Huawei presented their respective first folding phones at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last month. The Samsung Galaxy Fold has a folding design, while the Huawei Mate X comes with folding design. Xiaomi seems to go his way with the double fold design.
These are not just factors of form that have aroused the interest of smartphone manufacturers.
Motorola confirmed that it is working on a folding phone, thought to be a Razr update that will use a vertical folding design to keep the factor similar to the original folding phone. The Motorola folding smartphone will also house a secondary display that will be visible when the phone is folded.
