The Redmi Go smartphone was launched in India and its first sale will take place today on Flipkart and Mi.com. This is the first Xiaomi phone that runs on the Android Go operating system and was unveiled in January. The Redmi Go has a 3,000 mAh battery, an HD display, a dedicated microSD card slot and comes with support for more than 20 Indian languages. The price of Redmi Go in India has been set at Rs. 4,499 for the built-in storage variant of 1GB RAM / 8GB. For now, the built-in 1GB RAM / 16GB storage variant has not been released in the country. It will be available in two color variants: black and blue.

The dual SIM card (Nano) Redmi Go works with Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition) and features a 5-inch HD screen (720×1280 pixels). It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC quad-core, along with 1 GB of RAM and the Adreno 308 GPU. Xiaomi has announced a unique built-in storage variant of Redmi Go in India (8 GB) and can be expanded through a microSD card (up to 128 GB) with its own dedicated slot. Users also get unlimited storage in Google Photos in high-quality resolution, it is said to be the first in the segment.
The Redmi Go has an 8-megapixel rear camera with 1.12-micron pixels, an aperture of f / 2.0 and a single LED flash module. The company is also promoting full-HD video recording, as well as HDR features, real-time filters, and intelligent scene detection.
